There’s no sugarcoating it—2025 was not a great year for beer, or for beverage alcohol in general. In both on-premise and off-premise channels, every category experienced pullback, with only a small offset between volume and dollar value. A recent World Data Lab and NielsenIQ report, entitled “The Future on Tap,” examines some of these trends. (It also considers upcoming generational shifts over the next two decades and what they could mean for beverage alcohol.) Here, we share their high-level look at sales from the past year.
